I'm an operations analyst for a fortune 10 million financial company (vague enough?), with a fascination and appreciation of Lean methodology, Agile software development practices, the flow of value through an organization, irrelevance of management relative to leadership, the power and goodness in valuing people and pushing them to potential heretofore unexplored, the beauty of a system, and the freedom and desire to learn and question. This is not a comprehensive list.
I am in awe of those able to turn thoughts and feelings to words or paper and have been influenced by many over the course of time. Martin Gardner, Ohmae, Christopher Phillips, Bono, Brian Greene, Yeats, Guy Kawasaki, Lyle Lovett, James Womack, Goldratt, Hawking, Coignard...to name a few. The Baroque Trilogy by Stephenson is the single greatest piece of printed beauty that I have yet to behold. The greatest story ever told -- and that should give you some insight, as well.
What I'm learning feels to be ageless. We have yet to grasp the elusive theory of everything...whether it be in science or business or love and appreciation of people...but we draw ever closer. Welcome to my part of the journey. I hope you choose to linger and share. I do not intend to proclaim. Instead I hope to offer that which I feel I've learned and that may resonate with others. I hope I can learn from you, as well. I apologize in advance for my ignorance and inadvertent affronts. Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.
You can call me Roy.
